Dr. Alex Harris (Fritz Weaver) has developed a creative artificial brain dubbed Proteus IV which can do its own thinking. Ultimately, it decides to trap Harris’s poor wife Susan (Julie Christie) in their own home because Proteus has determined that she can give it what it desires most.
 
This knockout 1977 science-fiction thriller is almost a two-character story, a battle of wills between the frightened and angry Susan and the coldly determined Proteus IV (whose voice is provided by an uncredited Robert Vaughn). It’s a strange, disquieting, fascinating little movie with a thoroughly engaging performance by Christie, exploring not only the idea of entrusting our lives to computers, but of also what it means to be human. The music and special effects are good, and the dialog is interesting.

 
A sinister secret has been kept in the basement of an abandoned Los Angeles church for many years. With the death of a priest belonging to a mysterious sect, another priest opens the door to the basement and discovers a vat containing a green liquid. The priest contacts a group of physics graduate students to investigate it. Unfortunately, they discover that the liquid contains the essence of Satan himself, and they also discover that he will release HIS father – an all-powerful Anti-God!

A Christlike figure wanders through bizarre, grotesque scenarios filled with religious and sacrilegious imagery. He meets a mystical guide who introduces him to seven wealthy and powerful individuals, each representing a planet in the solar system. These seven, along with the protagonist, the guide and the guide’s assistant, divest themselves of their worldly goods and form a group of nine who will seek out the Holy Mountain, in order to displace the gods who live there and become immortal.

A young man is confined in a mental hospital. Through a flashback we see that he was traumatized as a child, when he and his family were circus performers: he saw his father cut off the arms of his mother, a religious fanatic and leader of the heretical church of Santa Sangre (”Holy Blood”), and then commit suicide. Back in the present, he escapes and rejoins his surviving and armless mother. Against his will, he “becomes her arms” and the two undertake a grisly campaign of murder and revenge.

 
A team consisting of a physicist, his wife, a young female psychic and the only survivor of the previous visit are sent to the notorious Hell House to prove/disprove survival after death. Previous visitors have either been killed or gone mad, and it is up to the team to survive a full week in isolation, and solve the mystery of the Hell House.

 
Several people are invited to join the opening of a new movie theatre. As the horror film shown to the guests gets more and more violent, the people start to transform one by one into bloodthirsty demons. The remaining guests begin the desperate battle for their lives.

 
Straight after the events of the first film, the children are moved to Gatlins neighbouring town Hemmingford. A failed journalist called John comes to Hemmingford to find out what happened in Gatlin. His son Danny is with him, John and Danny don’t get on well together. They are staying in the same house as Micah a boy possesed by He who walks behind the rows. Danny becomes Micah’s friend and comes under his influence. Danny then falls in love with Lacy but in the end Danny has to make a choice which could mean life or death!
